A $10,000 ticket...I think not.

The NCAA Tournament is extremely popular, and people that want to go to the finals pay a big price for this entertainment. This year's finals are played at Reliant Stadium in Houston Texas. This Stadium seats around 71,500 people, and the farthest seats could start at around $200, and the lower level can be up to $10,000. I think the seating arrangement is interesting because the combined seating for Butler and VCU's stadiums have a total of 17,500. Large arenas or stadiums have to be used because so many people will buy tickets to see the games being played. Now, you could go online and just look at all of the tickets and prices which makes it a lot easier. Even if it is as easy as clicking a button on the Internet, I still don't think I would pay $10,000 for a ticket.

  1. That's really interesting (at even a bit disturbing) that the tickets can range so much in price! I guess it's part of the fandom that I'm not as familiar with. It makes me wonder though, what percentage of the revenue for the teams or for the association does this generate? Also, does the revenue ever get sent to fundraisers?

  2. Agreed!!! What do they need all that money for?

  3. Honestly, they really don't need all that money, but I think the reason that they get it is because fans are willing to pay that much in order to have that kind of entertainment. Also, I am sure some part of their money goes to fundraisers, but I don't know exactly.

  4. I don't think I would even pay $200! Have tickets always been this expensive?

  5. I think the tickets have always been expensive, but they probably weren't as expensive as this year. Tickets have probably become progressively more expensive each year.

  6. Thats crazy ! Tickets for both basketball and football have always been rather expensive, which is why alumni packages and things of that nature have always been so lucrative but $10,000 is far beyond excessive, especially for something thats only going to last for a few hours.

  7. I think it is a little crazy because I would never pay that, but some people are willing to pay it so I say more power to you if you want to spend your money like that.
